FE Mechanical Exam

The FE Electrical Exam serves as a vital step for aspiring electrical engineers seeking to demonstrate their competency in fundamental electrical engineering principles and practices. Successfully passing the exam earns candidates the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, paving the way for professional licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE), which unlocks greater career opportunities and responsibilities within the electrical engineering industry.

Exam Format
Calculator Policy

The NCEES calculator policy specifies that only certain calculator models are permitted during the FE exam to maintain exam integrity and fairness. As of my knowledge cutoff date in September 2021, the NCEES-approved calculator models for the FE exam are:

1) Casio FX-115 and FX-991 (all models)

2) Hewlett Packard HP 33s and HP 35s
3) Texas Instruments TI-30X and TI-36X (all models)

Examinees must bring their own calculators, and they must be one of the approved models. No other calculator models are allowed, and using an unapproved calculator may result in exam disqualification. It's important to verify the most current calculator policy on the NCEES website before the exam day.
